Corporate Workplace Culture As It REALLY Is (Not how it was or how you wish it)

Class Date: January 15, 2019

Corporate culture is all about the values and attitudes a company wants practiced, as well as those presented by people at the company. There are times where a workplace culture is different within a teams or tribe of people at a company. However, it is important to recognize that the beliefs from those employees are not necessarily representative of the corporate culture as a whole, or company policy.

This course and its lessons will review the difference between corporate and internal, tribal culture, as well as use examples from fictitious companies.

We will examine ways in which you may need to navigate differences in the corporate approach versus your own as it relates to dress code, office setup, and other factors.

Lastly, we will discuss strong and weak examples of organizational and corporate culture as they relate to internal productivity and customer support.

NOTE: This course is part of the class entitled, "Jump-Start Your Career." You can purchase this course separately if you are not interested in the class.

Lessons

  1. In this lesson, we will examine how people often have to navigate corporate culture. In some instances, a corporate approach will differ to your own. And corporations as entities develop values and procedures that can conflict with your own. How, for example, do you respond to different approaches to topics such as dress code, office setup, and other factors in ways that are positive? How do you identify a truly toxic corporate culture, and what options do you have?
