Congratulations! You have decided you want to create a course for Catoctin College's learning community.

We are here to help make the process as simple as possible.

How To Create A Course At Catoctin College

In order to get started, you need an idea for a course you want to teach, and who your learning audience will most likely be.

You do not need to have everything mapped out, or even have your curriculum completed.

To get started, simply complete the form on this page with as much information as possible.

Once submitted, our team will review during our weekly Curriculum Planning Session. During this meeting, we examine every course that has been submitted, as well as our own course plans. We determine what questions we need answered, and set an estimated launch date (if we are able) for the course. Then we contact you to discuss the next steps.

Please note - during this review process - we focus on each submission equally. No course submission has a higher priority than any other. It is only after we talk with you, and determine the time it will take to develop the course curriculum, pricing, and marketing plan, that we will be able to set a launch date. If you have most of your content created, and it is high quality and ready for presentation, then it is likely you will receive a faster launch date for your class.

How Are You Paid

All teachers are paid almost the full profit from their courses. Catoctin does charge some processing and set-up fees to ensure our costs are covered. However, we also want to make sure that you are fairly compensated for your time and knowledge.

Our goal is to help you get your course content created, and at the highest possible quality. Only quality content will be accepted.

Payments for fee-based courses will be sent out monthly, not as you receive course registrations. We have to project that there may be some instances in which a student withdraws from a class and requires a refund. For most of our courses, we do not offer refunds once the class has started. To reduce the need for in-session refunds, we work with every teacher to make sure the content being presented is of the highest quality.

Costs To The Teacher

We will discuss the costs with you. We do charge a small yearly hosting fee for storing your courses in the Catoctin College community, and we charge for processing payments (both registrations and pay-outs). But we do our best to keep the costs at a minimum to ensure that you receive the maximum revenue possible for your course. The yearly hosting fee includes every course you create, so you might as well create as many courses as you can.

For teachers who want additional course development and marketing support, we offer additional services.

Use the form below to start to outline your course. Once submitted, we will add your course to our next Curriculum Planning Session. You will receive an e-mail confirmation that your course has been received, a date for when it will be reviewed, and an approximate time-frame to when you will receive a call back from our team.
