Catoctin College provides a robust learning management system (LMS) that allows you to create courses and training exercises either for a classroom, online, or both.
Our partnership with Ecofy / VOC, a coworking space located at 1899 L Street, NW, in Washington, DC, also gives you a unique opportunity to teach classes from the most powerful and influential city in the world.
Start Sharing Your Knowledge
By working with our team, you can create courses or Webinars that share your knowledge and expertise with other professionals.
Our model allows you to offer the courses for free or for a fee, as well as set-up bootcamps and other programs.
By taping into our marketing, you can reduce the amount of time and cost it normally takes to successfully promote your course.
You don't need a lot of technical or teaching expertise to build out a course with lessons.
Catoctin will review what features we have available with you, provide you with a checklist, and then work with you to set everything up.
To get started, you just need an idea.
Not feeling confident about teaching?
We can help with that too! Not everyone wants to be on camera, in a classroom, or record a presentation. Depending on your level of experience and comfort, we can help prepare you to teach or provide you with someone who can teach your content.
Your Catoctin College team is available to make sure your course is well-designed, and a success with your audience.
In order to get started, you need an idea for a course you want to teach, and an idea of who your learning audience will most likely be.
Those are the two most important pieces to get started.
You do not need to have everything mapped out (though it is great if you do), or even have your curriculum completed.
We just need you to complete our New Course Proposal form with your idea and audience.
Once submitted, our team will review during our weekly Curriculum Planning Session. During this meeting, we examine every course that has been submitted, as well as our own course plans. We determine what questions we need answered, and set an estimated launch date (if we are able) for the course. Then we contact you to discuss the next steps.Complete Course Proposal
How Are You Paid
All teachers are paid almost the full profit from their courses. Catoctin does charge some processing and set-up fees to ensure our costs are covered. However, we also want to make sure that you are fairly compensated for your time and knowledge.
Our goal is to help you get your course content created, and at the highest possible quality. Only quality content will be accepted.
Payments for fee-based courses will be sent out monthly, not as you receive course registrations. We have to project that there may be some instances in which a student withdraws from a class and requires a refund. For most of our courses, we do not offer refunds once the class has started. To reduce the need for in-session refunds, we work with every teacher to make sure the content being presented is of the highest quality.
As a teacher with Catoctin College, your benefits include:
Costs To The Teacher
We will discuss the costs with you. We do charge a small yearly hosting fee for storing your courses in the Catoctin College community, and we charge for processing payments (both registrations and pay-outs). But we do our best to keep the costs at a minimum to ensure that you receive the maximum revenue possible for your course. The yearly hosting fee includes every course you create, so you might as well create as many courses as you can.
For teachers who want additional course development and marketing support, we offer additional services.
